Students' Plants Ready for Charity Event

Pupils at Robert Kett, Wicklewood and Garboldisham Schools have been busy sowing seeds for a charity Well Being Day in Wymondham. The plants will be donated and sold at a plant stall on the Well Being Day with proceeds going to Star Throwers charity, who provide support for people affected by cancer.

The children and their families at Robert Kett Junior School sowed their seeds (pic above) and made bright decorative pots under the guidance of Karen Sendall, a Family Learning tutor for Norfolk County Council Adult Education and Guidance Services. Class teacher, Sarah Knights, said: "The children and their parents all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was lovely to see everyone interacting in such a positive way."

The Well Being Day will be hosted at Star Throwers, 30 Melton Rd, on Saturday 31st March from 10am - 4pm and there will be opportunities throughout the day to try out various Well Being activities, ranging from relaxation therapies, to fun group singing, to Qigong and more.

If you would like to donate a plant or find out more about the Well Being Day, please phone Star Throwers on 01953 423304 or email info@starthrowers.org.uk

Come along to Star Throwers' Well Being Day

Over the last 5 months, Star Throwers have been collaborating with Norfolk Council Adult Education Services and Norwich MIND to organise a Well Being day to promote various paths to well being.

Star Throwers will be hosting the inaugural event on Saturday 31st March, from 10am - 4pm. The day will be an opportunity for anyone interested in improving their well being to have a go at some fun, unique, relaxing activities and also learn something new which they can take away and use at home.

If you've been very stressed, come along and try out some of our massage taster sessions. Or, better yet, attend one of our workshops and learn some techniques which you can use at home yourself. Also planned for the day is a chance to participate in art as you've never experienced before, fun group singing sessions, gardening demonstrations, henna hand painting, yoga, qigong, djembe drumming workshop, and more!

As well as all this, we are also going to be treated to a performance by DGAS Djembe drumming group at 10:30am. And thanks to people sowing a seed for Star Throwers we will also have a plant stall sale with all proceeds going to support those affected by cancer.

A full list of times and events can be seen from our brochure, which you can download by CLICKING HERE.

The event will be hosted at Star Throwers' centre in Wymondham, 30 Melton Road, NR18 0DB on Saturday 31st March from 10am - 4pm and is open to anybody wherever they're from and whatever their situation. Parking is available at the public car park behind the Feather's Pub (see Brochure for map). There will be events running throughout the day but please allow time for registration.

Pupils get sowing for Star Throwers Well Being Day

Pupils at Garboldisham Church Primary School have been getting their hands dirty to help support Star Throwers' Well Being Day.

The school is one of a number of local schools sowing seeds in aid of our Well Being Day on Saturday, March 31st.

Wicklewood Primary School’s after school club and Robert Kett Junior school are also growing various plants for the event.

The herb and vegetable plants will be sold at a plant stall on the day with all proceeds going towards supporting those affected by cancer.

Star Throwers are working with Norwich MIND and Norfolk County Council Adult Education Services to host the Well Being Day, a free event where people can go to have a taste and even learn for themselves various relaxing and uplifting well being therapies.
